PILKINGTON – now called Poppet

CottonTails Rabbit & Guinea Pig Rescue > My New Home > PILKINGTON – now called Poppet

by | Sep 15, 2019 | My New Home

Pilkington was 6 years old and very overweight but gradually slimmed down nicely.

Update by new owner:

She is a funny one but is settling in fine, hasn’t stopped eating and is really enjoyed an energetic run around the room.  We have just had 5 minutes of stroking and a snuggle, when I stopped she was cross and nipped my leg until I did it again, and then she ran off!

Here is a photo of a tired little bunny, asleep on her quilt after today’s explorations.  I am really surprised how quickly she has settled down and the level of affection she enjoys, it’s not even been a week yet!

Seasonal update:

Poppet getting into the Christmas spirit by trimming the tree (I just had to rename her).  All is well with her and she is fully settled now.  Hayley.

UPDATE:  Here is Pilkington enjoying a half hour snooze!

If you would like to adopt Pilkington, make sure you are familiar with our adoption criteria before contacting us (see link below), especially regarding the accommodation required.   She may be available to bond with a neutered male if we can’t find a house bunny home for her, and if you would like to consider taking her on trial you will need to be able to set up accommodation alongside your male so they can live side by side for around 2 weeks before trying an introduction in neutral territory. Do have a read of the bonding article (link is also below) as this explains the slow bonding method, which is the recommended method for matching rabbits to keep stress and risk of fighting to a minimum.  Due to her age a reduced donation of £20 would be gratefully received for Pilkington.
